    Wheelchair Procedure

    • We are able to accommodate a maximum of two wheelchairs on the Sir John Knill. The access is through the left hand side of the boat using the ramp that will put in place by the crew member.
    • Once in place please have the brake on.
    • The width of the entrance is 80cm, the height 1.6m
    • Each wheelchair user must have a carer with them and a seat will be available for them.
    • It would be helpful to notify us in advance that you are bringing a wheelchair so please phone 07963834828.
    • It is mandatory for the wheelchair users to wear the lifejackets which we provide.

    Route and Prices

    Bathampton (outside the George Pub) to Bath (Bath Narrowboats Cafe, Sydney Wharf, Bathwick) or Bath Top Lock (Widcombe) on a two hourly basis.
    Halfway stop at Folly Bridge on request.

    Weekends from April to October and daily during the school holidays, weather permitting.

    Times
    Leaving Bathampton 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 4 pm
    Bath 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm, 5 pm

    Prices:

    One way:

    Adults £5.00.

    Children 5-10 yrs & Carers with wheelchairs £3.00

    Seniors £4.50

    Returns:

    Adults £9.00/ children & carers £4.50/Seniors £8.00

    Loyalty cards available.

    Private Hire

    The waterbus is available for private charter during normal times for 90 minute trips, ideal for hen parties, families or groups of up to 12 passengers, return or with a break at Bathampton, £75 for a one way trip, £150 for a return.

    Terms and Conditions of carriage on the Sir John Knill waterbus:

    1. Non bookable seats, we can only take 12 people at a time so it has to be first come first served. Please wait at the designated pick up where indicated by the pavement boards.
    2. Payment to be made to the driver at the time.
    3. All passengers on board do so at their own risk and John Knill & Sons whilst taking all reasonable precautions shall not be held responsible for any loss, injury, damage or costs sustained by the passengers nor loss or damage to their personal effects whilst on board or ashore.
    4. The maximum number of wheelchairs at any one time can be 2, or a combination of pushchairs and wheelchairs also a maximum 2.
    5. It is mandatory for wheelchair users to wear the lifejackets available on board.
    6. People with disabilities are required to have a carer with them.
    7. Carers accompanying must be able to assist disabled guests and wheelchairs with loading and offloading, the crew member to assist if required.
    8. Occasionally the boat will be booked for private charter, when so this will be displayed on the pavement board at both destination points and announced on the website Blog.
    9. If the weather is too severe for the boat to be safe the trips may be cancelled for that day. This will be announced on the Blog and put on the Pavement boards.
    10. Passenger safety: passengers will not be allowed to board if their behaviour is likely to cause a disturbance or jeopardise the safety of the other passengers or crew.

    Private hire:

    1. Payment: must be paid in full at the time of booking via ladylena.co.uk, but can be returned in cases of extreme weather or  at the owner’s discretion.
    2. Cruise times need to be strictly adhered to, delay in arrival will shorten your cruise.
