Access to the tow path at Bathampton is through the roadside seating area of the George and up the steps.
Or to be dropped off by the gate opposite the church and from there you can reach a seat on the grassed area (photo below). Alternatively there is wheelchair access to the tow path from the school side of the road bridge.
In Bath, the best way for people with walking difficulties or in a wheelchair is to go through the entrance to Bath Narrowboats by The Moorings on Bathwick Hill and to use the pontoon by the Cheshire Cat cafe.
Otherwise entrance is by Tescos on Bathwick Hill, a flight of steps lead down to the canal,
or steps up from Pulteney Road under the railway bridge.
